Let me introduce you...

Just sitting down to take a breather before studying for my last final and would like to tell you about my little buddy this semester. I like to call him " My Half Blood Prince". All you Harry Potter fans will know who I'm talking about. For those of you who don't, let me explain (I won't give anything away if you haven't read it; feel free to read on). In the sixth book, Harry uses a book for his potions class that is rather unique. In it he finds meticulous notes and improved potion formulas, all left behind by the previous owner who calls himself " The half-blood prince". All year "the half-blood prince" assists in helping Harry with potions.

Who knew that when I purchased my book for Spanish phonetics, that something similar would happen to me? Meet my Half Blood Prince:


The person who owned this book before was a lot more dedicated to this class than I was and definitely understood it much better. He filled in every exercise, highlighted every important point, and even took notes off to the side. (To be honest, I have no idea how he sold it back to the bookstore)

But, I didn't take advantage of his knowledge until a few weeks ago when a few classmates and I were trying to practice turning Latin words into Spanish words for an upcoming test. We kept referring back to the exercises he had done. But, instead of saying, "what does the book say?" or "how does the book say to do it?" we would say, "what does he say... how does he do it?". It was then I (inside my head) exclaimed, "He's my Half-Blood Prince!". Every time after that when I benefited from his notes I chuckled inside "hahaha... my half-blood prince". Who knows? Maybe that's how Harry felt.
