A Sweet Little Rat and a Family Film

Yesterday the fam and I went to go see the new box office hit (is it a hit? I just thought that sounded good) Ratatouille. I saw the trailers and definitely wanted to go see it, but unlike my friend Jamie, it wasn't a live or die kind of a thing - I just thought it looked like a cute Pixar film.

Lets just say that I was more than pleasantly surprised.

Anyway, I don't want to give too much away, and I don't want to build it up; some people in my family weren't dying over it(my dad actually fell asleep). But for some reason I really enjoyed it. The animation was fantastic, there were multiple laugh-out-loud moments, and some good "messages"that really resonated with me. I left feeling so inspired to follow my dreams and to never give up.

I give this one two thumbs up.

P.S. Also, it really fed my already growing desire to cook!

Since the beginning of time

Welcome to the blog of Miss Maclaine .

Wow, here I am, writing my first post for my long awaited blog. The title says "since the beginning of time", but I really have only been waiting a few months to start it up. If you'll indulge me, I'll tell you the story of the start of all this...

It was last year I first was introduced to the blogging world. A bunch of roommates and I were talking about random things (most likely in the middle of the night - ah, freshman year) and blogging was brought up. I thought it was a pretty cool idea: basically an online journal that other people have access to. But, that was all it was for me - just an idea.

Then, this past year my dad started blogging. I started reading it faithfully along with the blogs of my cousins and aunts. "Ok" I thought, "It's definitely time for me to start doing this". I was so excited to start one up. I have a journal that I write in about once or twice a week, but most of the things I record are feelings about church, scripture study, etc. I love it but I've always wanted to be able to write about things that I'm doing or just random thoughts of the day. And frankly, I just don't have the patience to hand write that down in my journal. Anyway, I was really excited to get going on a blog.

But, there was a problem. Finals. I was completely stressed with the end of the semester, was working way more hours than I should have, and was using every spare minute to study. So, the plan was to start the blog as an en-of-semester gift to myself. But, shortly thereafter Spring term started up and was postponed until now. And, here we are with the first post. Long story. I just felt the need to write down the start of it all.

Anyway, I hope that whoever reads this blog enjoys it. But, even if no one does, I am so excited to be able to write the things that I think about ,whether it be superficial, deep or completely random. Mostly, I'm excited to look back at the blog and say "so that's what I was doing when I went to college".

Here it goes...
